Asiahub New Media Summit

The annual grand gathering of Taiwan's content industry.

Taiwan occupies an essential position in Asia. In 2019, in response to the significant changes that new media technology brought to the content industry, NMEA aimed to unite the efforts of industry, government, and academia to explore Taiwan's advantages in the content industry. The primary goal is to promote Taiwan's unique cultural values and enhance connections with the international market. This led to the birth of the first "Asiahub New Media Summit."

Today, the Asiahub New Media Summit has become one of NMEA's annual flagship events. At the end of each year, NMEA gathers industry experts from both domestic and international sectors for a two-day summit. During this event, they discuss the latest trends and topics in the content industry, sparking innovative cross-sector collaborations. In addition to Taiwan's outstanding new media and audiovisual workers, leaders from major international enterprises such as Google, Netflix, and Discovery have been invited to share their insights at the summit. In recent years, the Asiahub New Media Summit has expanded to include workshops. Besides one-way knowledge sharing, these workshops provide practical opportunities to enrich the overall experience.

Over the years, the summit has been highly attended, with physical participation reaching thousands of individuals and tens of thousands of viewers joining through live streaming. It has become a knowledge hub for professionals to exchange ideas and one of the most influential flagship events in the content industry.

BEYOND

The rapid global connectivity driven by new media technology has led traditional media to pursue digital transformation and new opportunities. Taiwan's strategic location in the heart of Asia, bridging Northern Asia and Southeast Asia, and connecting Eastern and Western resources, positions it amid intense global competition. To thrive in this landscape, it's essential to break down barriers and harness the collective power of industry, government, and academia to create and promote Taiwanese cultural values.

The theme of the inaugural Asiahub New Media Summit, "BEYOND," symbolizes the vision for the content industry. It focuses on three core aspects (streaming, cross-sector, monetization) and nine major sectors (OTT, film, television, music, gaming, esports, animation, IP, telecommunications) to highlight trends in Asian new media.
